Not every ride ends at the airport or in Manhattan. A good part of our week at Ready Go USA goes to long distance trips from New York City to New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and upstate New York. Here is how we plan them from our base in the Bronx.
What counts as a long distance ride from NYC?
For us, a long distance ride is any trip that leaves the city and goes well past the usual commute. Think Manhattan to Princeton, Queens to Stamford, the Bronx to Philadelphia, or JFK to a family home in the Hudson Valley. These rides need more planning than a short hop across town, so we look at each one closely when the request comes in.
Some are one way. Others are round trips with a wait in the middle, like a client who visits family for the afternoon and then heads back to the city.
How do you book a car from NYC to New Jersey or Connecticut?
The easiest way is to send all the details in one message: pickup and drop off addresses, date, time, passengers and bags. Clients can use our booking page, and affiliates can send the ride through GNet. We confirm quickly, then share the driver name, phone and vehicle details ahead of the ride.
A few details help on longer trips:
- Any stops on the way, like a pickup in Brooklyn first
- Whether the ride is one way or round trip
- How much luggage is coming, so we choose a sedan or an SUV
- A good phone number for the passenger on the day
Our black sedans suit small groups with normal bags, and our SUVs give more room for families and large suitcases. Luxury sedans, larger SUVs and wheelchair accessible minivans are arranged through our partner bases. We keep the cars clean inside and out, which matters more on a long trip.
How do you keep clients updated on longer trips?
We stay in touch from pickup until drop off. On a long ride there is more room for traffic, weather or a late start, so clear updates matter. The client or the affiliate knows when the driver is on the way, when the passenger is on board, and when the ride is completed.
If something changes, like heavy traffic leaving the city or an extra stop, we tell the right person right away. For operators who send us work, that means fewer surprises and an easy way to keep their own client informed.
Why do affiliates send us their tri state rides?
Many operators outside New York get clients who land here and need to travel on to another state. Instead of sending a car into the city, they pass the ride to a local base that knows the roads, bridges and tunnels. We pick up at the airports, hotels and homes across the five boroughs, then take the client to the final address.
Joe at our base handles affiliate partnerships. You can contact us to talk through how you like rides confirmed and reported.
FAQ
Do you pick up at JFK, LaGuardia and Newark for long distance rides?
Yes. We pick up at all three airports with flight tracking and meet and greet, then continue to your final address.
Can I book a round trip with a wait in between?
Yes. Tell us the expected wait when you book, and we will plan it as a round trip or as hourly service.
How far ahead should I book a long distance ride?
Earlier is better, especially for early morning pickups. We can often help on shorter notice too, so send the request and we will confirm what is available.
